Communicating

In reality, Communication takes many forms, from words on paper to television and radio media. However, this self-paced module concentrates on interpersonal and small group communication which involves verbal face-to-face interaction with a person or audience.
Communication activities such as Listening, Speaking Skills, Questioning, Non-Verbal Communication and Communication Styles are explored in depth and are supported by three diagnostics:
- The Communication Skills Diagnostic
- Listening Attitudes and Behaviours Diagnostic
- Personal Listening Diagnostic
All diagnostics have scoring and feedback sheets to help the reader identify areas where they excel as well as areas that they may need to work on.
After completing the module the reader will be able to identify circumstances where different styles of communication are appropriate, use listening, questioning and presenting techniques to enhance the ability to communicate and identify the non-verbal communication of others and interpret its meaning.
A personal action plan and suggested readings round off the content.
