This week at BDI

We’re heading towards the end of the financial year and Jo is busy finalising all the book work for the Tax Man! Garry returned from a very successful three days in Manila , the Philippines . This is new territory for our business. He presented introductory workshops in the LIFO (Life Orientations) Method and Action Learning Coaching. We are confident that new business opportunities will emerge from there in the near future. Meanwhile, Jo is liaising with one of our contacts in South Africa who is organising their first round of Certified Action Learning Coach (CALC) training. There has been an overwhelming response to our invitation for expressions of interest from the groups we worked with recently in Durban , Cape Town and Johannesburg . It looks as though we will be conducting the first round of certification workshops in August. This is very exciting progress for WIAL (The World Institute for Action Learning)! We will be working with a new client in Brisbane for the next six months in the areas of Leadership, Organisational Change and Company Culture. We will be conducting weekly sessions for the entire staff of this accountancy practice. We expect the first workshop to be scheduled for mid-to-late July 2009. Jo recently facilitated a public program in Effective Negotiation and Influencing Skills. Jo has been a licensee with ENS International for just over ten years and is a very experienced trainer in their highly regarded negotiation process. The group of participants represented a range of businesses which include mining, the public service and manufacturing. Feedback from the course indicates that the ability to negotiate effectively is still one of the key skills required in many businesses.
